Jeju Olle Trail News
The new month started yesterday, which means Route 1-1 (Udo Island) is open again after the summer break. As I’ve explained before we close it during this time due to high levels of tourist traffic. Walkers have to share the route – which includes many narrow roads – with cars and electric bicycles. It just doesn’t make for a good walking experience. If you are looking to get a completion certificate you will now need to include Udo Island in your itinerary.
Also, if you come across any broken signs along the trail please take a photograph and note the location. We will pass this on to the exploration team who will in turn come out and get that fixed.
Jeju Walking Weather Report
It is a rainy walk out on the trail today. We’ve had 100mm up on Witsae Oreum and will be having 10-40mm until after midday in the lower areas. From then on we’ll have cloudy weather with a high of 28c or 29c. Typhoon Namtheun is making its way up from the south. While it is not forecast to directly affect the island from September 3 and 4 more rain will come. So take a light waterproof on the trail over the next few days and check that footwear too.
