[Olle Walkers Jeju Island News] 7,244 registered electric cars on Jeju Island as of June 2017

Jeju now has 7,244 registered electric vehicles on the island according to newly released statistics by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

This is a 29% increase from 2016 with an extra 1,617 added in one year.

Jeju accounts for 46% of the 15,869 electric vehicles registered across the whole of South Korea.

Seoul (2,327),  Gyeonggi  province (1,162), Daegu (1,125), and Cheonnam (601) have the next highest level of registrations.

The island hopes to reach 10,000 registrations by the end of 2017.
