2017-02-07 (Tuesday) Jeju Olle Trail News and Updates

We have one volunteer guided walk on the trail for Tuesday, February 7, 2017.

Kim Tae-su and Kim Sun-yeong are guiding seven people on Route 7.

Guided Walk Schedule (FEBRUARY 2017)

All walks begin from the route start point at 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted – red symbol in brackets (역 ) means the walk will start from the end point. A yellow box indicates no guided walk for that day. Try to arrive before 9:30 a.m. for greetings. Guided walks are in the Korean language with some limited English on occasions depending on the volunteer and are free of charge. Prepare suitable clothing for the weather and some snacks or drink. Walkers usually each lunch together at a restaurant (please pay for this). If you wish to join a guided walk you can just turn up, or pre-register (we prefer this) by sending me an email with the date and route you wish to join.

I had a question about the 2017 Jeju Olle Walking Festival dates. The 2017 festival will be on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 on Route 3 and 4.

Our exploration team were out yesterday fixing up Route 19 and 20. In one place there used to be forest, but now there is a road and buildings.

Today’s Akajabong Volunteer Guide

No Akajabong due to Clean Olle today. Instead volunteers will be meeting at the small car park next to Gate 1 at the airport from 9am to pick up trash along the link to Route 17.

Kang Jin-cheol guided a total of 19 participants on Route 9 yesterday. Here are some images from the walk.

Jeju Olle Trail News

I had one more festival email yesterday and got some updated information. There will be shuttle buses leaving from the main stadium complex in Jeju City on the Friday and Saturday morning between 7am – 8am. The bus ride will be around 1 hour. Walkers could stay in the Seongsan area and avoid the early start. Lunch will also be an extra 7,000WON per day.
